Are you aware that the majority of those glowing third person bios of authors you see in anthologies, in magazines or on the dust cover of a book are written by the author? That is unless she's Anne Rice or some mega bestseller who has a publicist. So in the spirit of honesty I'll spare you my pretentious third person bio.
I live in Southwest Missouri. I would mention my family, but my wife is partial to her anonymity. In my spare time, when I'm not playing piano in a rock/blues band called Sober as a Judge, I write.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of 1930s and '40s jazz. I'm reading Sharon Carter Rogers, Anne Rice and Stephen King. I'm always reading King along with the Bible -- strange combo, I know.

I recently had a request (actually it was more of a demand) that I post a photo of myself somewhere on my site. I found the strangest photo I could (okay, that's not true, but you wouldn't want to see the strangest one, would you?). This is me holding a baby alligator during a New Orleans swamp tour. And no, the little guy wasn't slimy at all.
